I didn't arrive here through a straight line. I arrived as a teen mom who migrated to the United States with $500 and a determination that nobody could explain — including me.
I've built careers in spaces that questioned whether I belonged. I've sat in rooms where I was the only Latina, the only woman, the only one without a traditional path. And I've learned that when there's no seat at the table, you don't wait for an invitation. You bring your own chair.
